The 1870 Quarter Eagle Patterns is a United States Gold Quarter Eagle from the Standard Silver Patterns (1870) series. Produced at the Philadelphia Mint. The obverse features experimental designs for a proposed "Standard Silver Dollar" of reduced weight and the reverse displays various experimental designs. A notable auction result reached $3.5K in PR61 grade at Bowers & Merena. Designed by William Barber.
