The obverse features test impressions from coin dies, ranging from fully detailed to partial impressions and the reverse displays test impressions that may be blank, partial, or paired with unrelated dies (mules). Minted during the age of Jacksonian democracy and the rise of the common man, as new branch mints opened in Charlotte, Dahlonega, and New Orleans.
