A cent from the Philadelphia Mint, the 1812 Classic Head Cent - Small Date belongs to the Classic Head Cents 1808-1814 series. With a mintage of 1.1 million, this is a less common issue — the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a fillet or headband inscribed LIBERTY and the reverse displays a wreath enclosing ONE CENT. Modest production during the War of 1812.
