Description
Part of the Classic Head Half Cents 1809-1836 series, the 1811 Classic Head Half Cent - Mickley Restrike is a cent from the Philadelphia Mint. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a fillet or headband inscribed LIBERTY and the reverse displays a wreath enclosing HALF CENT. The key date of the Classic Head series with a mintage of 63,140. The "Restrike" issue is a numismatic specialty. Coined at the Philadelphia facility, the nation's original mint that has operated continuously since its 1792 founding. Estimated market value ranges from $556 to $93K depending on grade and condition. Struck in copper, weighing 5.44 grams, 23.5 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #1138.
