A cent from the Philadelphia Mint, the 1804 Draped Bust Half Cent - Crosslet 4, Stems belongs to the Draped Bust Half Cents 1800-1808 series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.1 million examples, making this the lowest mintage among 5 mint variants, representing only 20% of total production. The obverse features Liberty facing right with draped bust and ribbon-bound hair, designed after a Gilbert Stuart portrait and the reverse displays a wreath enclosing HALF CENT. Multiple die varieties including the Spiked Chin, Crosslet 4, and Plain 4. Coined at the Philadelphia facility, the nation's original mint that has operated continuously since its 1792 founding.
