The 1793 Flowing Hair Wreath Cent is a United States cent from the Flowing Hair Wreath Cents 1793 series — the only year of issue. In 1793, coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a combined mintage of 190,059. The obverse features Liberty facing right with flowing hair, surrounded by stars and the reverse displays a wreath of laurel and berries enclosing ONE CENT with a trefoil at the top. Produced during the earliest years of the United States Mint, when the young republic was establishing its monetary system and coinage traditions.
